Aquatics Hall of Fame to Induct Bryant and Keefer at Alumni Meet Friday

Minneapolis – University of Minnesota swimming and diving alumni Kelci Bryant and Maggie Keefer will be honored prior to the start of the Alumni Meet Friday with their induction into the University of Minnesota Aquatics Hall of Fame.
The University of Minnesota Aquatic Hall of Fame began in 1984 and is aimed to give recognition to outstanding alumni that have contributed to the University's program and have excelled both academically and athletically in the Maroon & Gold.
Kelci Bryant (2009-11) was a two-time NCAA diving champion for the Gophers. The Chatham, Ill., native was the 1-meter National Champion in 2011 and the 3-meter springboard champion in 2010. Bryant won four Big Ten titles, taking the top spot on the podium for the 1-meter and 3-meter events in back-to-back years. In addition to her championships, Bryant was named the 2011 CSCAA Diver of the NCAA Championship, the 2010 Big Ten Diver of the Year, and the 2010 and 2011 Big Ten Diver of the Championships. Bryant is a two-time Olympian, competing in the synchronized 3-meter dive, taking fourth at the 2008 Beijing games and winning a silver medal in London in 2012.
Maggie Keefer competed for the women's diving program from 2010-14, was a four-time All-American and earned five All-America honorable mentions during her time as a Gopher. Keefer gained her highest finish at the NCAA Championships in 2013 where the Stillwater, Minn. native finished runner-up in the 1-meter event. Keefer was a three-time Big Ten Champion, the 2013 Big Ten Diver of the year and 2013 Big Ten Diver of the Championships. She still holds the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center record in the 1-meter dive and was a three time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
The induction ceremony will take place at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center at 6:00 pm on Friday prior to the start of the Alumni Meet.
