The University of Minnesota women's tennis team hosts weekend tournament.
Fresh off a trip out west to kick-off the spring season, the Golden Gophers' women's tennis team prepares to host the Courtside Classic from Feb. 2-3, 2019 at the Baseline Tennis Center. Alongside the Maroon and Gold, Minnesota will welcome teams from Colorado, DePaul, and Montana for the weekend-long, dual format competition.
Despite starting the season off 1-1, the Gophers return home with a loss to the No. 8 UCLA Bruins and a ranked win over Florida International who finished last season as the 41st team in the nation. "We are looking to build off last weekend and are excited to host our first matches of the season at home for the Courtside Classic" head coach Catrina Thompson said. "Hopefully we will have alumni and fans to cheer us on and we hope to put on a good show for them this weekend at Baseline."
