Maroon and Gold Showcase Set for Oct. 13

MINNEAPOLIS – Fans looking to get their first look at the 2019-20 Minnesota women's basketball team will have that opportunity on Oct. 13 at the Maroon and Gold Showcase.
Free and open to the public, the Golden Gophers will take the floor at Williams Arena for an open practice and scrimmage. Doors open at 3 p.m., and the event starts at 4 p.m. following brief remarks from head coach Lindsay Whalen. After the practice, the team and coaching staff will be available for autographs (please note: no outside materials will be signed.).
Fans are being asked to enter through the University Ave. entrance, and limited concession stands will be open. Parking will be available for $5 at the University Avenue Ramp, 4th Street Ramp, Maroon Lot, Lot 37 and Lot 58.
Fans should note that single-game tickets and mini plans for the upcoming season are also on sale now.
Tickets for the 17 home contests can be purchased on gophersports.com or by calling the ticket office at 612-624-8080 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays. Season tickets are also currently available online or by calling the ticket office.
Additionally, fans can purchase a customizable mini plan that ranges from 3 to 17 games and starts as low as $21. Single-game group tickets are also available, with a rate of $6 per ticket for groups of 15 or more. To purchase group tickets, call 612-624-8080 and select option 1.
Minnesota is coming off a 21-11 season (9-9 in Big Ten play) and a trip to the second round of the Women's NIT in head coach Lindsay Whalen's debut campaign. The team returns three of its top four leading scorers next season, and 53.8 percent of its scoring, 70.4 percent of its 3-pointers, 63.8 percent of its blocks, 57.1 percent of its rebounds, 55.6 percent of its minutes, 51.9 percent of its steals, and 50.6 percent of its assists.
