MINNEAPOLIS – For the second consecutive dual meet, three different Gophers have earned Big Ten Conference weekly accolades for their performances in the pool. Senior Lindsey Kozelsky and sophomore Max McHugh have been named the Big Ten Swimmers of the Week, while freshman Gavin Olson was awarded with Freshman of the Week honors.

For Kozelsky, this marks the returning All-American's first weekly Big Ten award of the young season and the fourth of her collegiate career overall. The senior was named Freshman of the Week on two occasions during the 2016-17 season, while also garnering Swimmer of the Week honors on Oct. 31 of last season.

Swimming against Wisconsin this past Friday, Kozelsky finished first in both the 100 breast (59.77) and 200 breast (2:12.36), while helping the 200 medley relay team to a first place result (1:39.84) as well. In the 100 breast, Kozelsky notched her top time of the season en route to securing the nation's third-fastest time so far this year.

As for McHugh, this Swimmer of the Week award marks his second in as many dual meets. On Oct. 30, the All-American received the same honor for his performance at Iowa, in which he won both the 100 and 200 breast.

McHugh achieved the same feat this past Friday against Wisconsin, dominating both the 100 breast (52.59) and 200 breast (1:56.41) yet again. In the process, McHugh recorded the nation's fastest time of the season in the 100 breast, while his time in the 200 breast presently ranks third in the country. The sophomore also helped Minnesota touch second in the 200 medley relay (1:28.30) against the Badgers.

In being named Freshman of the Week, Olson joins McHugh with his second Big Ten weekly accolade over the past two dual meets. Olson also earned recognition following the Iowa dual, having placed first in both the 100 back and 200 back against the Hawkeyes.

This week, Olson's honor extends from his strong showing against Wisconsin, in which the freshman placed second in both the 200 back (1:49.43) and 400 IM (4:03.11). Along with McHugh, Olson also swam on the 200 medley relay team that finished second.

All in all, Minnesota has now received a grand total of seven weekly Big Ten awards this season. In addition to Kozelsky and the four awards claimed by McHugh and Olson, the Gophers have seen Jake Butler win Big Ten Diver of the Week (Oct. 16) and Tevyn Waddell take home Swimmer of the Week (Oct. 30).
