STARTING FIVE
• The Gophers continue their homestand on Sunday evening, hosting border rival North Dakota, their first meeting since Dec. 8, 2014.
• After a challenging three-game road trip against power conference opponents, Minnesota is in the midst of its longest homestand of the season. Following the stretch which concludes with the Big Ten/ACC Challenge game against Clemson on Dec. 2, Minnesota will have back-to-back home games just twice more during the regular season.
• Already twice in five games, the Gophers have taken aim at the record books with hot shooting from beyond the 3-point arc. On Thursday night against Central Michigan, Minnesota drained 14 treys, which ties for the second-most in school history (last: 12/13/02 vs. Fairleigh Dickinson). Minnesota sank 13 3-pointers in the season opener vs. Cleveland State.
• Sophomore center Daniel Oturu is off to one of the best starts in the country. He set new or matched career highs in eight different categories. Oturu had one of the best nights of his career at Butler, setting new career-bests in scoring (24 points), field goals (9) and 3-pointers made (2) and minutes played (38) while adding 10 rebounds for his 10th career double-double. Three days later at Utah, his 18 rebounds, two 3-pointers and two steals set or matched career highs for the Woodbury native in those categories.
• The Gophers already rank highly among the nation's college basketball teams in several categories. As of Nov. 22, Minnesota is 17th in 3-pointers made per game (B1G: 1st), 28th in 3-pointers attempted per game (B1G: 1st) and 34th in blocked shots per game (B1G: 5th). Daniel Oturu is eighth in double doubles (B1G: 2nd) and 11th in the country in blocks (B1G: 2nd) while 12th in rebounds per game (B1G: 2nd) and 24th in field goal percentage (B1G: 1st). Marcus Carr is 20th in the country in assists per game (B1G: 3rd) and Gabe Kalscheur is 29th in 3-point attempts per game (B1G: 1st).
SCOUTING THE FIGHTING HAWKS
• UND is 1-3 on the season, winning their opener against Division III foe Crown College 86-61 before dropping three straight road games. Most recently, the Hawks fell 79-70 at Milwaukee on Tuesday.
• Sophomore forward Filip Rebraca leads the Hawks in points (17.8), rebounds (9.8) and blocks (2.8) per game, one of three UND players to average double-digit scoring.
• Rebraca has three double-doubles on the year, tied for eighth nationally, and his 73.2 percent field goal shooting is seventh in the nation as of Nov. 22, tops among all Summit League players. He is also the leading shot blocker and second leading rebounder among Summit players thus far this season.
GOPHERS VS. THE SUMMIT
• Minnesota has a 70-3 record against the current membership of the Summit League, excluding vacated games.
• Minnesota is facing a Summit school for the third straight year, after defeating Oral Roberts, 77-63, on December 21, 2017 and a season-opening 78-69 win over Omaha last year.
• Series records against Summit League schools are as follows, excluding vacated games: Denver (1-0), North Dakota State (27-1), Omaha (3-0), Oral Roberts (4-0), South Dakota (14-1), South Dakota State (17-1), Western Illinois (4-0).
UP NEXT

• Tip off is set for 2 p.m., on Fox Sports 1 while KTLK 1130 AM/103.5 FM will carry the Gopher Radio Network broadcast in the Twin Cities.
