Pitlick Signs Entry Level Deal with Nashville Predators

MINNEAPOLIS – Rem Pitlick, who led Gopher Hockey in scoring for the last two seasons and was named First Team All-Big Ten earlier this week, has signed a two-year, entry level contract with the Nashville Predators, forgoing his senior season with Minnesota.
A native of Plymouth, Minn., Pitlick recorded 108 points (47 goals, 61 assists) in 112 career games for the Maroon & Gold, tallying 30 or more points in each of his three seasons. The forward had his most successful season with the Gophers in 2018-19, notching career highs for points (45), goals (21) and assists (24) while tying for the NCAA lead with 10 power-play goals and three shorthanded tallies. Pitlick led the nation in scoring during the second half of the season with 31 points (14 goals, 17 assists).
With points in 31 of 38 games this year including a career-long 13-game point streak, Pitlick led the Gophers in points and goals with his 21 goals standing as the most by a Gopher since All-American Nick Bjugstad had 21 in 2012-13. He is currently tied for sixth in the nation in scoring.
Pitlick also led the Maroon & Gold in scoring as a sophomore in 2017-18 with 31 points (12 goals, 19 assists) while recording Big Ten All-Freshman honors as a rookie in 2016-17 with 32 points (14 goals, 18 assists).
Additionally, Pitlick was a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection (earning the distinction every year he was eligible) and a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar as a junior (eligible again as a senior).
Nashville drafted Pitlick in the third round (76th overall) of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. The forward joined Pride on Ice after being named the 2016 USHL Player of the Year and Forward of the Year.
