Gophers Finish 11th at Lady Buckeye Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Sophomore Grace Kellar earned her third top-20 finish of the season as the Lady Buckeye Invitational drew to a close Sunday at the Ohio State University Golf Club's Scarlet Course. In the Gophers' regular-season finale, Kellar (71-76-77—224) tied for 13th place in her best finish of the spring season.
Five shots back, senior Muyu Wu posted the low Gopher round of the day, tying for 29th place at 13-over par (78-76-75—229). Sophomores Kate Lillie (76-75-81—232) and Jessica Lee (83-80-82—245) rounded out the top-four Gopher finishers, tying for 37th and 70th place, respectively.
Freshman Karen Zhang placed 73rd (81-81-85—247) while sophomore Joanne Free (88-80-85—253) was one spot behind in 74th place.
As a team, the Gophers placed 11th (306-307-315—928). Kent State (293-291-296—880) won the team title while Indianapolis's Pilar Echeverria (69-72-74—215) earned medalist honors.
The Gophers shift to postseason play next, returning to Ohio next weekend for the Big Ten Championships at TPC River's Bend in Maineville. Action begins Friday, with 54 holes spread over three days.
