‘U’ Earns USTFCCCA Academic Accolades

MINNEAPOLIS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recognized the University of Minnesota track & field program for its work in the classroom this year as 20 Gophers were named USTFCCCA All-Academic selections while both men's and women's squads were honored as USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams. 

Representing the Maroon & Gold as USTFCCCA All-Academic honorees are Alec Basten, Ryan Crotty, Lindsey Greenlund, Bethany Hasz, Megan Hasz, Owen Hoeft, Erin Huls, Lexi Kiefer, Abby Kohut-Jackson, Anastasia Korzenowski, Dawson LaRance, Jack Manderscheid, Shay Nielsen, Patty O'Brien, Temi Ogunrinde, Nick Rink, Kiley Sabin, Rachel Schow, Kaleb Siekmeier and Jonathan Tharaldsen.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, student-athletes must compile a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher and must have met at least one of the following athletic standards. 
  • For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
  • For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
NCAA programs must record a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher to earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors.
