Meyer Receives Outstanding Pitcher Award in Cuba Series

DURHAM, N.C. – Following the conclusion of the USA Collegiate National Team's series victory over Cuba, rising junior pitcher Max Meyer was named the recipient of the Outstanding Pitcher award for the five-game international friendly.

Meyer earned the win in Game 1 of the series on June 2, firing four innings of shutout baseball while also striking out four and allowing just two hits. As the winning pitcher in the opening game, Meyer sported one of the top performances on the mound of the entire series, in which USA was ultimately victorious four games to one.

With the series against Cuba now in the books, the team will depart for Taiwan for the 19th USA vs. Chinese Taipei International Friendship Series from July 9-12. Prior to traveling to Japan to partake in the 43rd USA vs. Japan Collegiate All-Star Series from July 16-21, the team will trim its official roster down to 24 players.
