Lillie’s Even-Par Highlights Round Two at Royal

LAKE ELMO, Minn. - Junior Kate Lillie turned in the low Gopher round of the day at even-par 72 as the Minnesota women's golf team finished the second round of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M Tuesday at Royal Golf Club.
Minnesota is 12th (308-311—619) after 36 holes of play, competing against the strongest field in college women's golf.
Lillie (79-72—151) shaved seven strokes off her first-round score to move to a tie for 48th place, along with freshman Annabelle Ackroyd (75-76—151). Junior Joanne Free (75-83—158) is tied for 56th while freshman Grace Curran (79-80—159) is 58th. Freshman Emma Carpenter teed off Tuesday but withdrew for the day after several holes due to illness.
Wake Forest (282-282—564) matched its first round score to maintain its lead after 36 holes, as did their Rachel Kuehn (67-67—134) who holds a four-stroke lead entering the final round.
Notable
Although enjoying sunny skies and warm weather all day long, by the afternoon players dealt with wind gusts over 20 miles per hour compared to a calm morning.
