STARTING FIVE
• The Minnesota men's basketball team continues its road swing on Thursday, traveling to Ohio State for the first repeat opponent of the 2019-20 conference season. The Gophers knocked off then-No. 3 OSU, 84-71, in Minneapolis on Dec. 15.
Marcus Carr completed a historic feat on Jan. 12 against Michigan, becoming the first Gopher player with 20+ points and 12+ assists while finishing with zero turnovers. His 21-point, 12-point outing was the sophomore's first career double-double and tied his career high in assists.
• Sophomore center Daniel Oturu, who earned his second Big Ten Player of the Week award on Jan. 13, continues to put up eye-popping numbers as the season rolls on. The Woodbury native now has 11 double-doubles on the season after contributing 26 points and 14 rebounds in the win over Penn State. Against Michigan, Oturu scored a new career high of 30 points while adding seven rebounds and a steal.
• Minnesota has been tested early and often, playing one of the nation's toughest schedules in both conference and non-conference play. Through the games of Jan. 21, the Gophers' schedule ranks as the fourth toughest in NCAA Division I according to KenPom.com.
• The Gophers rank highly among the nation's college basketball teams in several categories. As of Jan. 22, Minnesota is 24th in blocked shots per game (B1G: 3rd), and 38th in assists per game (B1G: 4th). Daniel Oturu is sixth in rebounds per game (B1G: 1st), 18th in the country in blocks (B1G: 2nd), and 22nd in field goal percentage (B1G: 2nd). Oturu's 11 double-doubles rank sixth in the country and first in the Big Ten. Marcus Carr is 10th in the country in assists per game (B1G: 2nd) and leads the Big Ten in minutes per game (NCAA: 21st). Oturu is also the Big Ten's second leading scorer, trailing Iowa's Luka Garza (22.9 ppg). Gabe Kalscheur leads the Big Ten in total 3-pointers made and treys per game.

SCOUTING THE BUCKEYES
• Ohio State is 2-5 in conference play and 12-6 overall, having dropped five of its last six contests including a 90-76 loss at Penn State on Saturday.
• The Buckeyes are 10-1 at home this season, however, including a 80-68 win over Nebraska last time they took the court at Value City Arena on Jan. 14.
• Kaleb Wesson leads a trio of double-digit scorers for OSU, as the big man chips in 14.7 points along with a team-high 9.3 rebounds per game. Duane Washington Jr. (11.3) and D.J. Carton (10.1) round out the top scorers for the Scarlet and Grey.
• OSU is the top 3-point shooting team in the Big Ten Conference, making 8.8 treys per game while shooting 38.5 percent from behind the arc - both conference highs. Those numbers rank 17th and 54th, nationally.
• Ohio State is receiving votes in both the AP and Coaches polls this week.

UP NEXT
• The Gophers host ninth-ranked Michigan State in the second game between the two schools in a 17-day span.
• At halftime of the game, Gopher legend Willie Burton will have his jersey honored and banner raised to the rafters of Williams Arena.
• FOX and KFAN 100.3 FM will have the live broadcast of the game from Minneapolis, set for a 2 p.m. tip.
