STARTING FIVE

• Sunday sees the Maroon and Gold welcome the FOX Network to historic Williams Arena, marking the first national broadcast television network to showcase the Gophers at home since 2010.
• On Thursday, Marcus Carr's last-second heroics helped lift the Gophers to a season sweep of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Minnesota won in Columbus for the first time since 2005, which also marked the last time that the Maroon and Gold swept the Scarlet and Grey during the regular season. It also was the first regular-season sweep by the Gophers since doing so against Penn State in 2014.
• Minnesota has been tested early and often, playing one of the nation's toughest schedules. Through the games of Jan. 24, the Gophers' schedule ranks as the second toughest in NCAA Division I according to KenPom.com.
• The Gophers rank highly among the nation's college basketball teams in several categories. As of Jan. 25, Minnesota is 25th in blocked shots per game (B1G: 3rd), and 47th in assists per game (B1G: 4th). Daniel Oturu is seventh in rebounds per game (B1G: 1st), 18th in the country in blocks (B1G: 2nd), and 30th in field goal percentage (B1G: 2nd). Oturu's 11 double-doubles rank sixth in the country and first in the Big Ten. Marcus Carr is 10th in the country in assists per game (B1G: 2nd) and leads the Big Ten in minutes per game (NCAA: 20th). Oturu is also the Big Ten's second leading scorer, trailing Iowa's Luka Garza (23.2 ppg). Gabe Kalscheur leads the Big Ten in total 3-pointers made and treys per game.
SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
• Michigan State enters the weekend tied with Illinois atop the Big Ten standings at 6-2, coming off a 67-63 loss at Indiana on Thursday night. MSU has lost two of its last three after a 5-0 start to conference play.
• Cassius Winston leads the MSU offense, scoring 18 points along with six assists per game, figures which rank third and fourth in the Big Ten, respectively.
• Michigan State ranks third in the country in assists per game (18.7) and ranks fourth in rebounds per game (42), with the latter category led by Xavier Tillman who ranks third in the Big Ten.
WILLIE BURTON TO BE HONORED SUNDAY

• Burton, the third-leading scorer in program history, led the team in scoring both his junior (18.6) and senior (19.3) seasons, both NCAA Tournament years. His senior squad advanced to the Elite Eight, earning March Madness victories over UTEP, Northern Iowa and Syracuse before falling to Georgia tech at the Superdome in New Orleans.
• The Detroit native finished his career behind Mychal Thompson (1,992) atop the career scoring records with 1,800 points – a mark that was eclipsed last season by Jordan Murphy (1,802).
