Gophers start the season in primetime on ABC against Michigan

ESPN College GameDay is headed back to our city.

The premier college football pregame show will be on campus prior to Minnesota kicking off its season against Michigan at 6:30 p.m. on ABC at TCF Bank Stadium.

ESPN College GameDay will take air at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24 from inside TCF Bank Stadium. Fans will not be permitted to attend the show and the set location will not allow for any public viewing.

The show is making its second-ever trip to the University of Minnesota, as it was also on campus for Minnesota's final home game last season against Wisconsin.

The back-to-back home games for ESPN College GameDay is a rarity. This is believed to be only the fifth time that the show is visiting a school for consecutive home games. Previous locations were Virginia Tech (vs. Syracuse and Miami in 1999), Ohio State (vs. Michigan in 2002 and Washington in 2003), USC (vs. UCLA in 2005 and Nebraska in 2006) and Ohio State (vs. Michigan in 2016 and Oklahoma in 2017).
