Gopher Women Check in at No. 13

The Minnesota women's cross country team is ranked No. 13 in week one of the USTFCCCA National Coaches Poll.
MINNEAPOLIS --Â The Minnesota women's cross country team is ranked No. 13 in week one of the USTFCCCA National Coaches Poll, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Tuesday.
The Gopher women's cross country squad earned the No. 13 spot in the week one poll after returning five of its seven runners from its 2019 NCAA team in Abby Kohut-Jackson, Anastasia Korzenowski, Jaycie Thomsen, Lindsey Greenlund, and Carissa Dock. The roster is also bolstered by the return of Bethany Hasz and Megan Hasz, who redshirted the 2019 fall campaign as well. Minnesota placed 28th at the NCAA Cross Country Championships a year ago led by Kohut-Jackson in 110th place.
Defending NCAA champion Arkansas tops week one of the USTFCCCA National Coaches Poll. With their No. 13 ranking, the Gophers are the fourth-ranked Big Ten Conference team in the poll behind No. 6 Michigan, No. 9 Michigan State, and No. 11 Wisconsin. In total, the B1G has seven teams ranked in the week one poll as No. 15 Penn State, No. 16 Illinois, and No. 17 Indiana also land among the nation's top 20.
On the men's side, 2019 NCAA team runner-up Northern Arizona owns the top spot in the week one poll, and four B1G teams are represented in No. 12 Wisconsin, No. 13 Michigan, No. 18 Indiana, and No. 22 Purdue.
The week two edition of the USTFCCCA National Coaches Poll is set to be released on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
