* - excludes vacated games

STARTING FIVE
• Minnesota closes out its nonconference regular season schedule this Sunday when the Saint Louis Billikens come to Williams Arena. Minnesota is 2-1 all time against SLU, excluding vacated games. The last time Minnesota hosted SLU dates back to 1946 in a 40-36 win.
• The last time Minnesota played the Billikens was back on March 19, 2003 during the NIT Tournament in St. Louis. The Gophers won that game, 62-52. Rick Rickert and Maurice Hargrow each scored 15 points to lead the Gophers to victory.
• The Gophers opened Big Ten play on Tuesday night with a 92-65 loss to No. 13 Illinois. Minnesota welcomed back redshirt senior Brandon Johnson after he missed the Kansas City game due to an injury. Johnson came in off the bench and added eight rebounds, a Minnesota best from the Western Michigan transfer. Eric Curry had seven points against Illinois, a season high. Curry, who sat out all last year due to injury, averages 4.6 points per game. Liam Robbins accomplished double-digit points in the loss, his fifth time this season.
• Marcus Carr leads the Gophers averaging 22.7 points per game. That average ranks 13th nationally and tied for third in the Big Ten. Carr, who has had double-digit points in every game this year, tied a career high 35 against Green Bay and started the season rattling off 20-plus point games four times this season.
• After completing the nonconference slate, the Gophers return to Big Ten action Christmas night. Minnesota will face ranked league foes in Iowa (currently ranked No. 3), Michigan State (No. 4) and Wisconsin (No. 12) in their next three games.

SCOUTING THE BILLIKENS
• Saint Louis enters the Minnesota game with a 6-0 record, including an 80-69 win over NC State Thursday night. SLU opened the season with an 89-52 win over SIUE, an 85-81 win over LSU, a 107-54 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff, an 88-65 win over Central Arkansas and a 78-59 victory over Indiana State. Sunday's game marks the first road contest for the Billikens this season. SLU also had to cancel one game against Evansville on Dec. 12.
• Javonte Perkins leads the team in points (19.5 ppg), while Jordan Goodwin is second averaging 15.2 ppg. He also leads the team in rebounds averaging 11.0 per game. Yuri Collins has 44 assists, averaging 2.3 per game.
• Slated to finish second in the A10 preseason poll, Saint Louis also landed four in the preseason A10 teams: Jordan Goodwin (First Team), Hasahn French (Second Team), Javonte Perkins (Third Team), with French and Goodwin on the Preseason All-Defensive Team.

GOPHERS VS. THE A10 CONFERENCE
