MINNEAPOLIS - Future Gopher Bar Soloveychik claimed a trio of gold medal finishes at the 2020 Israeli Olympic Qualifier meet Thursday and Friday, hitting a pair of FINA "B" cuts in the process.

Soloveychik's success began in the 800 freestyle (8:01.83) where the Kiryat Motzkin, Israel native secured his first gold of the meet easily, out-touching the second place finisher by more than 12 seconds. His time earned him his first FINA "B" cut of the meet.

Next came the 400 free (3:52.05), where Soloveychik sped to another decisive finals win, beating the second place finisher by more than 10 seconds and securing his second FINA "B" cut of the meet. What may be even more impressive about the time, however, is that the personal best performance was only a mere 0.60 seconds off of the Israeli national record.

Friday saw Soloveychik tally his third gold-medal performance of the qualifier in the 1500 free (15:40.47), where he continued in his dominant fashion with another eight-second difference between him and the nearest competitor.

Soloveychik officially signed with the University of Minnesota swimming and diving program in early November. His first season competing as a Golden Gopher will begin in Fall 2021 as a member of the Class of 2025.
