With day two of competition wrapped up at the Big Ten Championships, the Minnesota men's swimming & diving team improved their standings from day one and now sit in seventh place with 227 points.

Jake Butler took home the best individual finish of the night for Minnesota, placing fourth in the 1-meter springboard and setting a new lifetime best (359.85). Butler will look to add on to this impressive finish tomorrow night in the 3-meter.

Competing alongside Butler in the 1-meter were Duncan Lester (13th, 288.35), Ryan Phillip (19th, 263.10) and Jeremy Moser (24th, 246.85). All four Gopher divers registered points for Minnesota in the event.

Cameron Kelley led the charge for the Maroon and Gold in the pool, qualifying for the evening A final in the 500 freestyle and touching seventh overall in the event (4:21.10). In the C final, Aidan Dillon scored points for the Gophers as well, finishing 20th overall (4:25.15).

Matthew Thomas was the lone Gopher to compete in the 200 individual medley portion of day two's finals session, placing 16th overall (1:45.73) and improving on the lifetime best he set earlier in the day.

In tonight's relay event, the 400 medley relay, the foursome of Gavin Olson, Max McHugh, Thomas, and Tim Sates tied for fourth with an NCAA 'B' cut time of 3:07.19. The outstanding performance marked the second top-four finish for the Gophers on the night.
