STARTING FIVE
• The Minnesota men's basketball team opens its final road trip of the season, traveling across the border to face Wisconsin Sunday evening. The Gophers are looking for their second-straight win in Madison since 1983-84 and first season sweep of the Badgers in 11 years..
• Redshirt sophomore guard Marcus Carr became the Gophers' all-time single-season assists leader on Wednesday against Maryland. Carr had seven assists which moved him past Arriel McDonald's 26-year old record of 179 assists. The Toronto, Ontario native now has 182 on the season, and is eight away from tying Ray Williams' record of 118 in Big Ten games with three remaining conference contests.
• Sophomore center Daniel Oturu was named to the John R. Wooden Award Late Season Top 20 List and Citizen Naismith Trophy Midseason Watch List, both of which rank him among the top candidates in the nation for the men's basketball player of the year. He is also a finalist for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award for the nation's top center. The awards will be announced in April.
• The Gophers have now completed two season sweeps (Ohio State, Northwestern), something that hasn't been done since the 2009-10 season (Penn State, Iowa).
• The Gophers rank highly among the nation's college basketball teams in several categories. As of Feb. 28, Minnesota is 27th in fewest turnovers (B1G: 4th) and 26th in blocked shots per game (B1G: 3rd). Daniel Oturu is eighth in rebounds per game (B1G: 1st), 18th in the country in blocks (B1G: 1st), and 22nd in field goal percentage (B1G: 1st). Oturu's 16 double-doubles rank eighth in the country and second in the Big Ten. Marcus Carr is ninth in the country in assists per game (B1G: 2nd) and leads the Big Ten in minutes per game (NCAA: 18th). Gabe Kalscheur leads the Big Ten in total 3-pointers made and treys per game.

SCOUTING THE BADGERS
• Wisconsin has rattled off five straight wins since their defeat at the hands of the Gophers in Minneapolis, including an 81-74 win at No. 19 Michigan on Thursday. The Badgers are among the four-way tie for second place in the Big Ten at 11-6 entering the weekend.
• The Badgers are 13-1 at home this season including a 7-1 mark in Big Ten play, with the only home loss coming to Illinois, 71-70, on Jan. 8.
• Nate Reuvers leads a trio of Badger double-digit scorers with 13.3 points per game, and is also the team's leading shot blocker averaging two blocks per game.
• Wisconsin leads the Big Ten in 3-pointers made per game (8.7) as well as free throw percentage (76.9), despite ranking second to last in free throw attempts. They are also the Big Ten leader in fewest turnovers per game (10.2), ranking sixth in the nation in that category.

DIAL "I" FOR OFFENSE
• In Wednesday's game against Maryland, freshman Isaiah Ihnen broke out for a career high nine points, all coming in the first half.
• Ihnen, who had seven 3-pointers in 23 attempts entering the game, drained his first three treys to spark the Gophers from the opening tip.
• The Boeblingen, Germany native also added tied a season-high with one steal while playing a career-best 19 minutes.
• Ihnen's previous career high was seven points vs. FIU on December 28.

UP NEXT
• The Gophers wrap up the road trip with their final regular-season road game, traveling to Indiana on Wednesday night.
• Tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CT with BTN and KFAN 100.3 FM carrying the action live from Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington.
