In just the second meet of his college career, freshman Crew Bold put up an impressive showing that earned him College Gymnastics Association Rookie of the Week honors, the outlet announced Tuesday.

It's Minnesota's first weekly award for a freshman since David Pochinka was named CGA and Big Ten Rookie of the Week on March 26, 2019.

Bold, a native of Delray Beach, Fla. made quite the impression last weekend at Iowa. He competed on rings, parallel bars and high bar and posted top 10 finishes and career highs in each.

He came away with his first-ever event title on high bar with a personal best score of 14.100, which is also Minnesota's highest score this season. It's the second-best mark on high bar by any freshman in the country this year and third-best overall.

Bold also took home the bronze on rings with a score of 13.300 as Minnesota's top finisher and notched a 13.100 on rings to tie for sixth.

Crew was selected as a Big Ten Gymnast to Watch prior to the start of his freshman season. He was also selected as a member of the U.S. Junior National Team after an outstanding performance at U.S. Nationals over the summer. He finished in the top 10 on all events, including third place all-around and on high bar, and fourth on rings and parallel bars.
