Four Gophers have been named regular season College Gymnastics Association All-Americans, the outlet announced on Saturday. Mike Moran, David Pochinka, Shane Wiskus and Timmy Kutyla combined for five honors in four events and one all-around.

All-American awards are usually given to the top eight finishers on each event and in the all-around at the NCAA Championships. With the remainder of the season canceled, the CGA chose All-Americans for the first time ever, based on top eight standings on each event and in the all-around as of March 9.

Junior captain Wiskus racked up three honors: all-around, parallel bars and rings. He finished his junior campaign as the No. 1 all-arounder in the country, with a qualifying average score of 83.467. He also came in at No. 2 on parallel bars and No. 5 on rings, events in which he held the Minnesota team season high scores. In four regular season meets, Shane brought home three all-around titles, seven event titles and recorded six podium finishes.

Wiskus is now a nine-time All-American in his career at Minnesota and has earned the distinction in four of six events, and all three years all-around.

Moran, a sophomore, earned his first-ever All-American honors after finishing as the No. 6 floor worker nationally (14.300). He won two floor titles during the regular season and also shined in the event on the national stage, placing seventh at the USA Gymnastics Winter Cup Challenge in February. He had a breakout season for the Gophers, going from a two-event gymnast as a freshman to Minnesota's No. 2 all-arounder in his sophomore slate, finishing the year ranked No. 2 in the country.

Fellow sophomore David Pochinka joined Wiskus as a parallel bars All-American. A first-time honoree, he ended as the No. 8-ranked gymnast on the event, fourth-best in the Big Ten, with an NQA of 13.967. He holds Minnesota's second-highest score on the event in the 2020 season, a career-high 14.600, and earned two event titles and two second place finishes. David is the second Pochinka to become a Minnesota All-American. His older brother Yaroslav ('18) earned the honor in his senior season with the Gophers on vault.

Minnesota's only senior, Timmy Kutyla, was able to end his career on a high note after the season was cut short by bringing home his first-ever All-American award. Kutyla, a two-year captain for the Gophers, was extremely consistent for Minnesota on high bar this season. He ended as No. 4 in the country with an NQA of 13.833, but was ranked as high as No. 2 earlier in the season. In his seven regular season meets, he placed within the top three on high bar four times and took home one title, the first on the event of his career. The highlight of his senior slate came at Nebraska, when he set new career highs on both events, parallel bars (14.200) and high bar (14.000).

The Gophers finished their season ranked No. 10 with a 1-1-0 record in the Big Ten and 10-6-0 overall.
