Minnesota Earns 83 Academic All-Big Ten Honors

MINNEAPOLIS – The Big Ten Conference has honored 83 University of Minnesota student-athletes as Academic All-Big Ten selections for the winter season, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten merits, student-athletes must be on a varsity team, have been enrolled full time at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Eight University of Minnesota programs featured Academic All-Big Ten selections with women's gymnastics leading all winter programs 15 selections while men's swimming & diving and women's swimming & diving had 14 honorees each. Men's gymnastics and men's hockey both had 11 honorees, and wrestling featured eight academic selections from its roster. Men's basketball and women's basketball each had five student-athletes earn Academic All-Big Ten merits.
Lindsey Kozelsky of the women's swimming and diving team led the way for the Gophers with a 4.0 cumulative GPA, one of 23 Big Ten student-athletes to record an unblemished performance in the classroom.
