MINNEAPOLIS – As Gopher Hockey prepares for a historic season in 2020-21, GopherSports.com takes one last look back at the 2019-20 campaign with our Top Moments of the Season.
Jaxon Nelson's first goal with Gopher Hockey might not have counted towards his career total, but it's one he'll certainly never forget.
A native of Magnolia, Minn., Nelson locked up the Big Ten bonus point for the Maroon & Gold with an end-to-end dangle in 3-on-3 overtime, finding the back of the net at Yost Ice Arena on Nov. 8, 2019.
The forward skated in 33 games for Minnesota as a freshman, tallying six points (two goals, four assists). He later added an official game-winning goal with this interesting attempt against Ohio State on Jan. 25, 2020.
