As Gopher Wrestling looks ahead to the 2020-21 season, GopherSports.com looks back at the top moments from the 2019-20 campaign.

In January, senior Devin Skatzka headed to his home state of Michigan for the first time as a Golden Gopher needing just one victory to reach 100 for his career. Facing Michigan State's Layne Malczewski, Skatzka used a pair of second-period takedowns to pull away for a 10-5 decision. The Richmond, Mich., native added a technical fall against Michigan two days later to complete the weekend sweep.

Skatzka was named a first-team NWCA All-American after compiling a 28-10 record in 2019-20.

Quotable: "It feels great, I'm blessed. Not too many people get to accomplish that. It's great it worked out this way being in Michigan with a bunch of family and friends here." - Devin Skatzka

"On the mat, the way he wrestles and competes, he fights for every point. He's obviously been very successful. Some of the things they're learning from him, he's got a great work ethic. So, the way that he trains, the way that he works and all the little things he's doing that are right. He leads in a very positive way, so it's great for young guys to see that." - Brandon Eggum

Notable: Skatzka finished his career with 102 victories, including a total of 54 in his two seasons at Minnesota, after transferring from Indiana University. If all victories were done in Maroon and Gold, that total would have been good for 44th in Gopher Wrestling history.
