Loper Named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week

Ona Loper was named the Big Ten Gymnast of the Week for the first time this season and third time in her career. This award comes after Minnesota defeated Iowa on Friday night. Loper led the Gophers to 197.025 team score, the highest season opening score in program history.
The senior tied her career-high in the all-around with a 39.625 to take the event title. Loper put up the top performances on vault, bars and floor to win first on each event.
Loper set a new career-high on both bars (9.925) and floor (9.950). Continuing her success from last season on vault, Loper posted a 9.950 on the event. She also put up a 9.800 on beam.

Minnesota travels to Michigan this weekend to take on the Wolverines on Friday, January 22. The meet is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. CT and will be broadcast live on ESPN U.
