Up Next
Minnesota plays Maryland again tomorrow night. The Gophers and Terps battle at 5 p.m. CT and will be streamed on BTN +.

Quotable
"We were happy to win the match in three and I was proud of how the team competed at the end of the third set," head coach Hugh McCutcheon said. "We did a nice job at the service line, which really set the tone for the match."

Notable
The last time Minnesota had over 11 aces in a match dates back to Nov. 29, 2019 when the Gophers had 15 against Rutgers. Rollins tied a career-best of four, which she also had against Georgia Southern on Sept. 1, 2018.

Set Breakdown
Set 1: The Golden Gophers used a pair of runs to win the first set, 25-16. After Maryland had a service error at 5-5, Minnesota had a block from Pittman and three-straight aces from Rollins to put the score at 9-5. Minnesota then went up 12-8 on a combined block from Myers/Samedy. Minnesota ended the first set on a 15-5 run to take a 25-16 set win. Samedy added kills for Minnesota's 22nd, 24th and 25th points to take a 1-0 lead.
Set 2: The Gophers took the second set with a 25-17 win. Minnesota jumped out to a 10-3 lead off a bad set from Maryland. Landfair pushed the score to 12-7 on a kill, while Samedy put the Gophers up, 15-7. McGraw later had an ace for a 17-10 lead, while Pittman and Shaffmaster combined for a block at 20-15. After back-to-back aces by Pittman for a 23-16 lead, the Gophers closed out the set on back-to-back kills from Landfair to take a 2-0 lead.
Set 3: Trailing 19-23, Minnesota rattled off six-straight points to close out the match, 25-23. Minnesota and Terps tied the set 10 times, while Maryland held a 19-23 late. Minnesota started the set with a 6-3 lead, but Maryland tied the set at 10-10. Trading points and leads through 19-19, Maryland strung together five-straight for the 19-23 lead. The Gophers however, fought back and finished off the match with a 5-0 run of their own. Landfair had a kill, followed by Rollins and an ace by Kilkelly. The Gophers then had a kill by Samedy to tie the set at 23-23. The Gophers then had a combined block from Myers and Rollins for match point. Minnesota won the match off a Maryland error as the Gophers swept their third-straight match.
