Women's Gymnastics Announces 2021 Schedule

The University of Minnesota women's gymnastics team released their 2021 competition schedule.
The University of Minnesota women's gymnastics program will have a nine-meet regular season schedule this spring, the Big Ten Conference announced Monday. The Gophers' schedule will consist of four home meets and four away meets, along with the Big Five meet. The schedule is subject to change and times and broadcast information will be announced at a later date.
Minnesota will officially kick-off their season on Saturday, Jan. 16 when it hosts Iowa at 3 p.m. The Gophers then head to Michigan for a meet scheduled for Friday, Jan. 22 at 6 p.m. The Maroon and Gold wrap up the month of January by hosting Penn State on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 12 p.m.Â
The Gophers start February on the road for two weeks, with an away meet at Iowa on the weekend of Feb. 5 and at Michigan State on the weekend of Feb. 12. Minnesota will return home the following weekend to host Rutgers on Friday, Feb. 19 at 2 p.m.
The Gophers will compete at the Big Five meet during the weekend of Feb. 26 with the location of the event to be determined. Minnesota then hosts Nebraska on Friday, March 5 at 2 p.m. The Maroon and Gold will round out their travel schedule and regular season at Illinois during the weekend of March 12, with the date and time to be announced later.
The postseason begins with the 2021 Big Ten Championships on Saturday, March 20. The NCAA Regionals will be held April 1-3 and the NCAA Nationals will be held April 16-17.
Minnesota enters the season ranked No. 11 in the nation according to the WCGA preseason poll. This ranking comes after one of the most successful seasons in program history in 2020.Â
