Minnesota will compete at eight events over the 2021-22 season.
MINNEAPOLIS –The University of Minnesota rowing program and head coach Alicea Strodel have announced the team's remaining schedule for the 2021-22 campaign with a total of eight competitions on the docket for the Maroon & Gold.
"We learned so much about ourselves last year through racing and having a competitive schedule. I'm excited that we get to do that again in 2021-22!" Strodel said. "This schedule gives us a great opportunity to measure ourselves against the best teams in the country, and it will give us ample races to learn, grow and row throughout the year."
After opening the year earlier this month with the Head of the Mississippi Regatta, the Gophers are slated to compete in a pair of races to close out the fall. Minnesota heads to the Head of the Charles on Sunday, Oct. 24 in Boston before closing out the fall with a dual against Wisconsin at Devil's Lake in Baraboo, Wis., on Saturday, Nov. 6.
The 'U' returns to action on Wednesday, March 23 with a dual at SMU before competing at the second annual B1G Invitational on April 15-16 in Sarasota, Fla. The Gophers then enter the championship season of the schedule after competing against Iowa, Oregon State, USC and Wisconsin at Lake MacBride in Iowa City on Saturday, April 30.
The 2022 Big Ten Championships are scheduled for Sunday, May 15 at the Indianapolis Rowing Center (Eagle Creek Reservoir) in Indianapolis, Ind., with the 2022 NCAA Championships set for May 27-20 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla.
