Three Gophers Named NFCA All-American Scholar Athletes

MINNEAPOLIS – Three Minnesota softball student-athletes were recognized as 2020-21 Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar Athletes as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Tuesday afternoon.
 
The team was also recognized as an Easton/NFCA Academic Team with a 3.61 GPA which ranked tied for 33rd among NCAA Division I schools and fourth among Big Ten teams.
 
Natalie DenHartog, Amber Fiser and MaKenna Partain were all individually recognized by the NFCA for their performances in the classroom where they posted a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
 
Minnesota has two doubleheaders remaining in their fall campaign at Jane Sage Cowles Stadium. The Gophers host Minnesota-Duluth on Oct. 9, and St. Thomas on Oct. 15. Admission is free.
 
Minnesota closed out the 2021 season with a 31-13 overall record, finishing in second place in the Big Ten. The Gophers reached the NCAA Tournament for the eighth-straight time and the 15th time in school history.
