MINNEAPOLIS – Minnesota senior Angus Flanagan's run at the PGA Tour's Genesis Invitational came to an end Friday as he missed the cut following the second round of competition at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
After shooting a 4-over 75 in Thursday's opening round, Flanagan carded a 7-over 78 Friday. Eleven strokes over par for the tournament, he missed the cut line of even-par.
Flanagan started his round on the back nine and recorded a par on four straight holes after opening with a bogey on No. 10. He bogeyed the 15th before a par on No. 16 but then ended his first nine holes by going bogey-double to score a 41.
Turning to the front nine, he had three pars in a row before a bogey on the par-3 4th. He then recorded a par on four of the final five holes, save for a bogey on No. 7.
The Woking, England, native finished his 36 holes with one birdie, 24 pars, 10 bogeys and a double bogey. After hitting just 27.8 percent of greens in his opening round, Flanagan reached 50 percent of his greens in regulation Friday. His driving accuracy was 28.6 percent on both days.
