Butler Paces Gophers on Day Two of Men's B1G Diving Championships

MINNEAPOLIS – For the second consecutive day of competition at the Men's Big Ten Diving Championships, all four Gopher divers scored for Minnesota, this time in the three-meter springboard.

Jake Butler paced the Maroon & Gold once again on day two, securing a spot in the three-meter diving finals by placing sixth in preliminaries with a six-dive score of 383.10 In the finals, Butler improved on his standing, finishing fifth overall with a 409.30 score.

Earning a spot in the consolation final, Duncan Lester also performed well in preliminaries by using a score of 345.75 to finish 15th. Similar to Butler, Lester also improved in the finals session, placing 12th overall with a score of 345.75.

Maxim Royzen and Ryan Phillip also scored for the Gophers, finishing 18th (320.80) and 24th (284.30), respectively.

Competition will resume Saturday morning at 11:20 a.m. CT in West Lafayette, Ind., with the men set to take on the platform. As always, all the action can be caught on BTN+.
