Gophers Climb to No. 16 in National Rankings

3/24/2021 12:20:00 PM | Rowing

MINNEAPOLIS – The Gopher rowing program continues to climb the national rankings at the start of the 2021 season as the Maroon & Gold moved up to 16th in this week's Pocock/CRCA Division I Rankings, announced on Wednesday by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association.

The No. 16 ranking for the University of Minnesota is the program's highest position in the poll since coming in at No. 15 on March 27, 2019.

Minnesota has already improved its standing in the national rankings three times this season – starting the year by receiving votes in the preseason rankings before emerging at No. 19 in the poll last week after a successful season opener at Louisville's Cardinal Invite.

Next Up: Ohio State in April
Minnesota returns to training for the rest of March before heading to Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, April 3 to take on Ohio State, Michigan, Duke and Virginia.
