The No. 5 University of Minnesota Women's gymnastics team beat Nebraska by a final score of 197.400 - 196.150 on Friday night. The team score marks the sixth highest in program history.

Notable
Freshman Mya Hooten recorded the first perfect 10 on floor in Gophers program history. The Woodbury, Minn native led Minnesota to a 49.575 team score on the event, which ties the program record. This is the third perfect 10 by a Gophers gymnast this season.

Immediately following today's action, Minnesota honored the five seniors on the team: Mary Korlin-Downs, Ona Loper, Lexi Montgomery, Lexy Ramler and Hannah Willmarth.

Quotable
"A perfect 10 for Mya has always been a goal," head coach Jenny Hansen said. "We always say if we fix these little things, a 10 will be possible. It was so fun to see her do it tonight and absolutely nail her routine. She did all the little things we have been working on. It is really exciting to even know that you have the potential to achieve a perfect 10. Not everyone has that potential, but she does."

"I cannot even explain this feeling," Mya Hooten said. "It truly is a dream come true and is a moment I will never forget."

"Tonight was so fun and reminded me of how amazing this team is," senior Hannah Willmarth said. "Every single teammate means so much to me and the support the team gave us seniors made tonight so special!"

"Tonight was a very emotional night, it is so hard to describe with words how honored it is to be part of such an amazing team whose energy and support is unmatched," said senior Lexi Montgomery.

"Tonight was a long time coming," said super senior Mary Korlin-Downs. "It felt amazing to be able to fully embrace senior night with this senior class! I'm so proud of the 2020 and 2021 senior class and this night was a great way to end our last regular season home meet at the Pav!"

"It's always such a special experience to compete at the Pav," said senior Lexy Ramler. "I'm so thankful for my team and my incredible parents that have provided me so many opportunities over my many years of gymnastics. Thank you Minnesota."

"Tonight was so special and so much fun," said senior Ona Loper. "It has truly been an honor competing as a Gopher. I am so proud of every single person on this team and the heart that everyone brought tonight!"
