'U' Climbs to No.17 in National Rankings

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Gopher rowing program climbed to No. 17 in this week's Pocock/CRCA Division I Rankings after competing in the Big Ten/ACC Regatta last weekend in Ohio. 

The Maroon & Gold have now landed in the national standings in all four in-season weekly Pocock/CRCA Division I Rankings after receiving votes in the preseason edition of the rankings. One of six Big Ten programs in this week's rankings, the Gophers garnered 121 votes. . 

UP NEXT: B1G INVITATIONAL
The Gophers will return to action with the inaugural B1G Invitational in Bethel, Ohio (April 17-18). Hosted at Harsha Lake, the B1G Invitational will feature 16 collegiate women's rowing teams and over 600 athletes. Eight schools from the Big Ten will participate in the spring event including Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Ohio State, Rutgers and Wisconsin. Guest teams from outside of the Big Ten are expected to compete include Alabama, Brown, Duke, Louisville, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Tennessee, Virginia. Practice sessions will occur on April 16, with three rounds of racing over the course of the event, more than 70 races will be held throughout the weekend.
