Brown, Clunis Finish Third and Fourth at Jamaican Championships

The pair of All-American throwers competed in their hometown of Kingston, Jamaica.
MINNEAPOLIS – Gophers All-American senior Devia Brown and All-American alum Nayoka Clunis finished third and fourth, respectively, in the women's senior shot put competition over the weekend at the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) National Senior & Junior Championships.
Competing in their hometown of Kingston, Jamaica, Brown recorded an attempt of 54-03.75 ft. (16.55 meters) while Clunis posted a toss of 52-06.00 ft. (16.00 meters).
Brown earned indoor shot put All-America honors in 2020 and ranks third all-time at Minnesota in both the indoor shot and the outdoor shot put. A four-time All-American for the Gophers, Clunis ranks second in school history in the indoor shot put, second in the weight throw, third in the hammer throw and seventh in the outdoor shot put.
