Eight University of Minnesota Representatives Invited to U.S. Olympic Residency Program

Former Olympians Hannah Brandt, Dani Cameranesi, Amanda Kessel, Kelly Pannek, Lee Stecklein and Megan Bozak and current Gophers Grace Zumwinkle and Abbey Murphy were among those invited.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Hockey announced today the 27 players invited to the 2021-2022 U.S. Women's National Team Residency Program. Among the 27 invitees are eight representatives from the University of Minnesota. The residency program will be held at the Super Rink in Blaine, Minn., in preparation for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing. 

The University of Minnesota representatives include six previous Olympians - Hannah Brandt, Dani Cameranesi, Amanda Kessel, Kelly Pannek, Lee Stecklein and Megan Bozek. Current college-eligible Gophers Grace Zumwinkle and Abbey Murphy were also invited and will seek to make their first-ever Olympic team. 

Brandt, Cameranesi, Kessel, Pannek and Stecklein were among those on the 2018 Olympic team that won gold in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Megan Bozek was not on the 2018 Olympic roster, but won silver in the 2014 Sochi games.

Grace Zumwinkle, the Patty Kazmaier Award finalist, and Abbey Murphy, WCHA All-Freshman, are two of eight players invited with remaining college eligibility.
