Minnesota remains undefeated on the season, and continues their success against Marquette, 13-1 in all meetings. The Gophers 5-0 record marks their best start since 1997.
The Gophers won both doubles matches and took all of the six singles competitions to win 7-0.
The pairing of Dalila Said and Maria Rizzolo picked up another win on Sunday, now 5-0 playing together in dual matches. At the No. 3 position, Anfisa Danilchenko and Ekin Ercetin cruised to a 6-2 victory, and confirmed the doubles point against Marquette. Rachel Hanford and Emilee Duong did not finish their match on account of previous results.
In singles play, Minnesota posted wins at every position. At No. 1, Duong beat Natalija Popovic 7-5, 6-1. After falling down two games to five, Duong rattled off five straight games to finish the first set, before closing out the win. This win is Duong's first of the year at the No. 1 position; she improved to 3-1 in the spring season.
All Gophers won in straight sets, with dominant wins from Vasia Karvouni, Maria Rizzolo, and Dalila Said. Anfisa Danilchenko and Maria Rizzolo remain undefeated on the year, the two freshmen are now a combined 9-0 in dual match play.
