Maroon & Gold to Compete in the Sunflower Invitational Tomorrow

MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Minnesota women's golf team begins the Sunflower Invitational tomorrow. The two-day tournament will occur from Oct. 17 – Oct. 18.
The Sunflower Invitational starts at 8 a.m. CT on Oct. 17 with two consecutive rounds of golf. The final round will also commence at 8 a.m. CST on Oct. 18.

Lineup:
Freshman Luisamariana Mesones, freshman Isabella McCauley, senior Emma Carpenter, senior Grace Curran, and senior Leah Herzog will represent the Maroon & Gold.
The Field:
The Gophers will compete against Arizona, Boston College, BYU, Iowa, Kansas, Kent State, Nebraska, New Mexico State, Notre Dame, Sam Houston, Texas San Antonio, Tulane, Washington State, and Wisconsin.
The Course:
The event will take place at the Lawrence Country Club. The recently renovated course was nominated by Golf Digest as one of the top renovated courses in the region following a complete redesign that ensured the course was challenging yet welcoming for all levels of play. This reputation earned the Lawrence Country Club the honor of hosting the Women's Big 12 Golf Championship in 2012.
Looking Ahead:
The Sunflower Invitational is the last tournament scheduled for the Fall season. The Gopher women's golf team will open their Spring season with the Nexus Collegiate in New Providence, Bahamas from Feb. 13 – Feb. 15.
