Phil Steele Publications Honors Seven Gophers

Four on offense, two on defense and one on special teams receive recognition
Phil Steele Publications recently announced its 2022 Postseason All-American and Big Ten All-Conference Teams and Minnesota had seven student-athletes honored.Â
Minnesota had two All-Americans and seven All-Conference players. Center John Michael Schmitz was named a First Team All-American and running back Mohamed Ibrahim was recognized as a Second Team All-American. Both Schmitz and Ibrahim were named First Team All-Big Ten.Â
Guard Axel Ruschmeyer was named Third Team All-Big Ten and guard Chuck Filiaga was a Fourth-Team selection.Â
On defense, linebacker Mariano Sori-Marin was a Second Team All-Big Ten honoree, while defensive back Tyler Nubin was named to the Third Team.Â
On special teams, longsapper Brady Week was named Third Team All-Big Team.Â
Minnesota returns to action on Thursday, Dec. 29 when it plays Syracuse at Yankee Stadium in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl. Â
