Johnson Prepares for Genesis Invitational Collegiate Showcase

MINNEAPOLIS - Minnesota senior golfer Lincoln Johnson is set to participate in the eighth-annual Genesis Invitational Collegiate Showcase. The showcase takes place Monday, February 14 at The Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles.
Lincoln Johnson is coming off a 2UP victory in B1G match play and is looking to continue his success in Southern California.
The Genesis Invitational Collegiate Showcase is a pro-am style event. The showcase consists of a single round of best-ball and is played in teams of three. Teams are made-up of two amateurs, and one PGA Tour Professional – each team representing a university. Johnson will be paired with Chuck Mooty and former Gopher Erik van Rooyen.
The winning team wins a $50,000 donation to their university's golf program, and the low-scoring collegiate golfer earns an exemption to play in The Genesis Invitational, filling out the field of 120 players.
The last time a Gopher appeared in The Genesis Invitational Collegiate Showcase was last year, when then-senior Angus Flanagan buried a 15-foot birdie-putt on a third sudden-death playoff hole to secure the victory and his spot in The Genesis Invitational.
