The University of Minnesota men's golf team began its spring 2022 campaign in the Sunshine State at the Big Ten Match Play at the Hammock Beach Resort Ocean Course.

The Gophers fell to Iowa to begin the tournament by a final of 4-1-0. Sophomore Ben Warian claimed the lone Minnesota victory.

"It was great to see Ben come out on top against one of the best players in our conference," head coach Justin Smith said. "We are looking forward to starting fast tomorrow and building momentum early to go get a couple of wins. I'm excited to see how we bounce back in a positive way."
