Loewe, who also had 19 points in the win against Rutgers on Jan. 22, has now reached double-figures in four of the past five games and eight times this season. One of his three-pointers was a buzzer-beating bomb from beyond half-court as the first half clock expired. He added four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
• Payton Willis has reached double-figures 16 times this season, including the past eight games. He had 16 points and tied Eric Curry with a team-high eight rebounds. He also added three assists and a block.
• Minnesota has faced some of the toughest competition this first half of the Big Ten season, not just in league play, but nationally. All nine of Minnesota's losses this season have come to top 33 teams in the NET rankings (Purdue - NET ranking 5, Illinois - 13, Ohio State - 17, Wisconsin - 19, Iowa - 20 (twice), Michigan State (twice)- 24 and Indiana - 33).

Willis also holds the league's best three-point shooter at 43.1 percent. Battle snapped a 34-straight double-figure scoring run dating back to last season at George Washington. He's had 19 games in which he's recorded 10-plus points this year. Battle's season high is 27 points (at Michigan), while his career high is 29 (vs. Duquesne). He has scored 20 points or more points in seven games this season.
