PALM CITY, F.L. – Minnesota shot 288(+4) and 293(+9) today in two rounds at Floridian National Golf Club, finishing the day at +13. The Gophers are in 15th place with one round left, scheduled for Tuesday morning.

Freshman Eduardo Galdos had a strong start to the day, shooting a career best 67(-4) in the first round. Galdos posted five birdies along with one bogey to set his new career high for the Maroon and Gold.

Sophomore Ben Warian put together a pair of even-par rounds, with nine birdies and nine bogeys on the day. Warian, along with senior Lincoln Johnson, each had a streak of three birdies on holes No. 6-8 in the first round.

Improving the most between rounds was freshman Bennett Swavely, shaving four strokes off his round one score (76) in round two (72). Senior Will Grevlos rounded out the day for Minnesota with a 79 in round one and 80 in round two.

The defending national champions and 10th ranked Pepperdine hold both the team lead and individual lead going into the third and final round.

Quotable:
"Proud of the way these guys battled." Gopher head coach Justin Smith said. "We lost too many strokes on the greens and from soft bogeys in the middle of the fairways. We will clean that up tomorrow and look to finish the event with our best golf yet."
