Ben Warian Finishes in Top-10, Antoine Sale in Top-20

WEST LAFAYETTE, IN – The University of Minnesota men's golf team wrapped up the Boilermaker Invitational by shooting a 293(+9) in the third round. The round was tied for the third-best of the day, and the Gophers, who shot 303-296-293--892 overall, finished in a tie for seventh place.

Ben Warian (75-70-70--215) led Minnesota this weekend as he tied his career-best tournament finish, in a tie for ninth place. Warian's career-high was set previously at the 2021 Boilermaker Invitational where he also tied for ninth. Warian has now been the Gopher's top performer at three straight tournaments.

Antoine Sale (71-74-73--218) also set his career-best finish as a Gopher, finishing in a tie for 16th. That breaks Sale's previous high at Minnesota, which was a tie for 20th at the Purdue Fall Invitational.

Eduardo Galdos (80-75-75--230) finished third best for the Gophers, followed closely behind by Harry Plowman-Ollington (77-77-77--231), Lincoln Johnson (80-79-75--234), and individual Alex Eickhoff (80-80-74--234). Minnesota's highest round of the tournament came in the final round, as the Gophers saw improvement throughout the team.

Quotable:
"Proud of the way the guys finished off the event. Ben and Antoine were really solid this week for us," Gopher's head coach Justin Smith said. "We are looking forward to getting back to work and preparing to play our best golf yet in Iowa."
