Ten Gophers are on NHL Stanley Cup playoff rosters in 2022.

MINNEAPOLIS -- The 2022 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs begin on Monday night with 11 Gopher Hockey products currently on playoff rosters in Nick Bjugstad (Minnesota Wild), Alex Goligoski (Minnesota Wild), Erik Haula (Boston Bruins), Justin Holl (Toronto Maple Leafs), Erik Johnson (Colorado Avalanche), Jack LaFontaine (Carolina Hurricanes), Nick Leddy (St. Louis Blues), Ryan Lindgren (New York Rangers), Kyle Rau (Minnesota Wild), Mike Reilly (Boston Bruins) and Brady Skjei (Carolina Hurricanes). 

Gopher Hockey Stanley Cup Playoff Notes
*The University of Minnesota has sent an NCAA-record 119 players to the NHL in program history including an NCAA-best 25 players this year. 
*Four Gophers made their NHL debuts during the 2021-22 regular season -- Ben Meyers (Colorado Avalanche), Jack LaFontaine (Carolina Hurricanes), Scott Reedy (San Jose Sharks), Tommy Novak (Nashville Predators). 
*A Hobey Baker Award Hat Trick Finalist, a Second Team All-American and the Big Ten Player of the Year, Ben Meyers is not eligible to skate in the playoffs after signing as a free agent following the season. 
*Two Gophers on playoff rosters have already hoisted the Stanley Cup in Nick Leddy and Alex Goligoski while a total of 10 University of Minnesota products have had their names engraved on the Stanley Cup -- Phil Kessel (2016, 2017), Leddy (2013), Goligoski (2009), Ben Clymer (2004), Chris McAlpine (1995), Neal Broten (1995), Tom Chorske (1995), coach Bob Johnson (1991 and posthumously added again in 1992), Frank Pietrangelo (1991) and Mike Polich (1977).
