Women’s Golf Reveals 2022-23 Schedule

MINNEAPOLIS – Four tournaments highlight the University of Minnesota women's golf team's 2022 fall schedule, starting with the Annika Intercollegiate at the end of the second week of September. The spring season will begin with the Columbia Classic on Feb. 11-13, the first of six spring events.
"As we embark on our second full season leading the program, I could not be more excited to announce our schedule," head coach Rhyll Brinsmead said. "As we pieced together this schedule it was imperative that we had a mix of elite competition and events that would test our ability to win."
The Golden Gophers will start their 2022-23 campaign at home with the Annika Intercollegiate on Sept. 12-14. The University of Minnesota will host the event at The Royal Club in Lake Elmo, Minn.
"We start our season here in Minnesota at the Annika Intercollegiate hosted by 3M. This allows us from day one to gauge our results against the very best teams in the nation. There is no better way to begin the fall!" Brinsmead said.
After hosting the first event of the year, the Maroon and Gold will head to Greenville, S.C. for the Lady Paladin Invitational, hosted by Furman University on Sept. 23-25.
To wrap up their first month of competition, Minnesota will travel to Virginia Beach, Va. for the Princess Anne Invitational on Sept. 30 – Oct. 2.
For the fourth and final tournament for the fall season, the Gophers will head to Lawrence, Kan. to compete in the Sunflower Invitational on Oct. 17-18.
To kick off the spring season, the Gophers will head south for the Columbia Classic in Melbourne, Fla. on Feb. 11-13.
"The spring will feature some intense competition leading up to the Big Ten Championship in April. With the addition of some new events and returning to events we know well, I am confident we have the right mix to earn quality head-to-head wins to launch us into postseason. Ski-U-Mah!!" Brinsmead said.
The final event in February will be the Westbrook Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz. on Feb. 26-27, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This will be the second season in a row the women's golf team will play in the event.
Like the Westbrook Invitational, Minnesota will compete in the Valspar Invitational in Augusta, Ga. for the second straight year. In 2023, the event will take place on March 11-12.
To start the month of April, the women's golf team will play in the Chattanooga Classic in Chattanooga, Tenn.
In the final event before the Big Ten Championship, the Maroon and Gold will travel to Columbus, Ohio for the Lady Buckeye Invitational on April 15-16.
As in 2021-22, the Gophers will head out East for the Big Ten Championship to Pittsburgh, Pa. on April 21-23.
The Gophers will return four golfers from last year's team, in addition to welcoming newcomers Isabella McCauley, Luisamariana Mesones and Junrui Chi.
