LAST SERIES RECAP
After six days in Texas, Minnesota will return to Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium for its regular season home opener sitting at 0-1-1. The Gophers kicked off their season with a 1-1 tie against Baylor, Minnesota leads the series 2-1-1. Despite staying ahead until the 85th minute, the Maroon and Gold saw its first loss of the season against No. 7 TCU, who put up two goals within the last five minutes.
Minnesota saw six student-athletes play a full 90 minutes both games in Lauren Donovan, Megan Plaschko, Delaney Stekr, Sophia Boman, Alana Dressely, and Gabbie Cesarone. Khyah Harper scored the first goal of the season against Baylor with a shot 20 yards out, Harper currently leads the Gophers in shots with six. McKenna Buisman put the Gophers on the board against the Horned Frogs, after a 1v1 battle in the 18-yard box, Buisman scored off her right foot.
It was also a weekend of firsts as transfers Sophia Romine and Cesarone made their first appearances as Gophers alongside freshmen Sophia Barjesteh and Amelia Brown.
FAIR DAY AND DONATION DRIVE AT ELR
Thursday's match will also feature different promotions. Donations for the Dwelling Place will be accepted, a full list of items eligible for donation can be found here. Thursday will also be Fair Day with contests, games, and $5 corn dogs and cheese curds.

Minnesota will head to Starkville, Miss., to face the Bulldogs on Sunday. In their last, and only, meeting the two teams tied the contest at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium. MSU led in shots, 18-13, while Plaschko made a career-high nine saves in double overtime for Minnesota.
SCOUTING CAL POLY
Three Mustangs were named to the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Watch List - Nikki Trucco (forward), Camille Lafaix (midfielder), and Emma Brown (defender). Trucco and Lafaix also received Big West Preseason All-Conference nods, while Lafaix was also named to the MACC Herman Trophy Watch List. Cal Poly is 0-2 on the season. Losses came against St. Mary's College (Calif.) and Big Ten opponent, Iowa.

Before Sunday's match against the Gophers, Mississippi State will face Lipscomb on Thursday for its first regular season home game. The Bulldogs start their season with a 1-0-1 record, featuring a draw against Miami and win over FIU.
Despite a 0-0 score, Mississippi State's offense outshot the Hurricanes 26-4. Two Bulldogs saw the back of the net against FIU, Haley McWhirter scored the game winner, while Alivia Buxton insured the win with back-to-back goals. On Monday, Buxton was named SEC Freshman of the Week for her 1.000 shot and shot on goal percentages.
Prior to the regular season, Mississippi State saw four student-athletes on the SEC Soccer Preseason Watch List - Maddy Anderson, Andrea Tyrrell, Macey Hodge, and McWhirter.
BIG TEN PLAYERS TO WATCH
The Gophers had three student-athletes named to the Big Ten Players to Watch List, announced by the conference office Monday. Sophia Boman, Megan Plaschko and Izzy Brown were recognized. This is Boman's second time being named to the list, but a first for Plaschko and Brown.
SISTER-SISTER
In NCAA Division I women's soccer, there are 26 schools that feature at least one set on sisters. Of those 26, eight schools' roster two sets of sisters – Minnesota one of them. Minnesota natives Sadie Harper and Khyah Harper sit alongside Izzy Brown and Amelia Brown, who reign from Cary, N.C.
