Set Breakdown:
Set 1: As the two teams traded points through 17-17, Stanford went on a 3-0 run to solidify the set win at 25-2. Shaffmaster cut the Cardinal lead to two with a kill at 20-22, but Stanford closed out the set with three-straight kills for the set win.

Set 2: The Cardinal jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the second and kept it throughout for a 25-18 win. Minnesota cut the deficit to four at 12-16, but Stanford pushed the lead back to 21-13 en route to the 25-18 set win.

Set 3: Minnesota rallied to win the third, 25-22. Similar to the second set, Stanford jumped out to a 7-3 lead. Minnesota cut the lead to one at 11-12 off a Landfair kill. However, Stanford built a 17-13 lead as Minnesota took a timeout. The Gophers responded and went on a 4-0 run to tie the set at 17-17. A kill by Landfair put the Gophers up, 18-17, their first lead of the set. Minnesota went on a 3-0 run as a Shaffmaster ace put Minnesota up, 20-17. A Hanson kill off the block attempt put the Gophers up, 23-20, while Stanford committed back-to-back service errors for a 25-22 set win.

Set 4: The Cardinal Stanford responded after the set loss and took a 12-4 lead. Minnesota had back-to-back points at 12-20, but the Cardinal finished off the match with a 5-0 run to win the set and match.
