Gophers Complete the ANNIKA Intercollegiate Tournament

LAKE ELMO – After playing their final round of the tournament today, the Gopher women's golf team finished in 12th place at the 2022 ANNIKA Intercollegiate in The Royal Club in Lake Elmo, Minn. The team's three-round score culminated into a 304-299-305--908 showing. Freshman Isabella McCauley rounded out the tournament with a score of one-under par (71) in round three.
Wake Forest's score of six-under par lifted them to first place in the 2022 ANNIKA Intercollegiate tournament.
Quotable:
"We didn't bring our best today, but this week gives us a gauge of where we are and where we need to be going forward," said coach Rhyll Brinsmead following the end of the tournament. "I'm super proud of some of the individual rounds we had this week but to post a team score we need consistency. We will make some adjustments this week and look ahead to our event in Furman."
Notable:
McCauley was at par and logged two birdies from holes 5 through 12. Her three-round score of 76-76-71--223 guided her to a tie for 41st place in her first collegiate event.
Following up her first two rounds, Emma Carpenter notched one birdie and a score of eight-over par (80) in round three. She finished with a three-round score of 74-73-80--227, placing her in a tie for 49th place in the tournament.
On her way to a score of six-over par (78), senior Leah Herzog was at par from holes 9 through 14. Her three-round score ended as 77-73-78--228. She closed out the tournament in a tie for 52nd place.
Freshman Luisamariana Mesones was at par from holes 16 through 18, completing her first collegiate tournament with a three-round score of 77-77-82--236 and a tie for 58th place.
Junior Grace Curran registered two birdies and a score of four-over par (76) in the final round of the event. Her three-round score of 79-81-76--236 directed her to a tie for 58th place.

Minnesota will travel to Greensville, S.C. for the first round of the Lady Paladin Invitational on Sept. 23.
