Minnesota starts its season Jan. 6 in Las Vegas
MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota gymnastics program held their annual intrasquad meet on Saturday afternoon. 18 of its 19 team members competed, with several athletes getting their first meet at the Pav under their belts.
"It was great to be back in Maturi Pavilion after a strong preseason of training," said head coach Jenny Hansen. "I thought the team did a great job of transferring what they had been working on to today's meet. The freshmen gained some valuable experience of competing in this environment."
Junior Marissa Jencks finished with the top all-around a score of 38.875 while Mya Hooten finished with 38.650. Freshman Sophia Nguyen finished with a tally of 38.275.
"We learned a lot from the intrasquad today and are very excited to keep building before our first meet," said Hansen.
