Tyler Nubin Named Walter Camp All-American

12/8/2023 8:02:00 PM | Football

Nubin is the first Minnesota defensive player to named an All-American since Antoine Winfield Jr. in 2019

The 2023 Walter Camp All-America Teams were announced today, and Minnesota defensive back Tyler Nubin was named to the Second Team.

Nubin, who was recently named All-Big Ten First Team, made 53 tackles this year and had five interceptions and four pass breakups. He has played in 55 career games for the Maroon and Gold and has made 207 tackles. His 13 career interceptions are a program record.

This is the second straight year that Minnesota has had a player named a Walter Camp All-American, as center John Michael Schmitz and running back Mohamed Ibrahim both received Second Team honors in 2022. Nubin is Minnesota's first Walter Camp All-American on defense since Antoine Winfield Jr. was named to the First Team in 2019.

The Walter Camp Football Foundation is one of the five teams used by the NCAA to select its consensus and unanimous teams. The others are FWAA, AP, AFCA and Sporting News. The schedule for those announcements is below.

FWAA (Dec. 11)
AP (Dec. 11)
AFCA (Dec. 12)
Sporting News (Dec. 13)
